When I left the house on Saturday to enjoy a well-deserved cookout with the fam, Texas was leading OU by nearly double... I didn't find out until Sunday, much to my surprise, that Texas somehow lost that game. While I experienced the following story on Friday, I'm just now remembering the moment to share something amazing with you. Enjoy.

The week prior to the Red River Rivalry game is always a fun week of jabs and joking in good fun between the two states. I know most non-OU fans give OU fans a lot of grief for being pretty toxic, but it's the exact same way in Texas with that fan base. There's always a cry to fire a coach after a tough loss within both bases. Both tend to get way too comfortable in just the respected team's body paint too. Nobody wants to see that... but then Lawton gifts us a Texan story that manages to recruit many more to the OU side in this bout.

Let me set the scene for you.

It's Friday morning. You've ended up at a military graduation ceremony on post, and time is very quickly ticking away off the clock. You're passing that time enjoying random conversation, people watching, rolling through what you have to get down that day, etc... and just when the ceremony is supposed to start, there's an announcement over the loudspeaker system.

"Would the driver of a white pickup, Texas license plate number XXX-XXX please move your parked vehicle off the railroad tracks... It has caused the trains to stop. Thank you."

Turns out, in their jubilant excitement to witness their loved one graduate that day, they opted to park their pickup directly upon a railroad crossing.

Almost instantly the little snickers and jeers started rolling across the crowd, at least where I was. My coworker and I got the giggles so bad, I honestly thought we were going to have to leave. How in the world does that even happen? Who parks on railroad tracks?

Texans. It's always Texans.
