We've all been there before. A moment in need of a little trusty duct tape, standing in the isle looking at brands, mentally wrestling the cost-vs-need. Is expensive tape really better? Or is it that they do a much better job in the marketing department? Only a little light scientific testing can answer that question.

Before you skip through, there isn't one brand that comes out on top. There are three different brands that shine bright at three different tasks. It should still be noted that the cheapest and most available products ultimately fall short in almost every test. Very underwhelming. But with this knowledge (that we're going to call non-exact garage science) you should be able to make up your mind the next time you reach for the handiest tool in the box.
