From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find furr-ever homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.

This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.

The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitties 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!

Ricky came to us as a stray, but with his social skills and basic obedience manners, it is obvious someone, at some time, spent time with this dog.

He is about 2 years old and looks to be a Husky mix. Or maybe a Shepherd mix? The family tree really isn't important. What is important is that this is a happy, friendly dog who gets along with children other dogs, & cats and is looking for a Forever Home.

He is people-oriented and loves ear scratches, belly rubs and going on walks! He has nice leash manners and, is house-trained with a consistent schedule and supervision.

He'll also sit at a second's notice for a treat! For more information or to meet Ricky, call SCHS at 580-252-7387. He tested negative for heart worms, has been neutered, and UTD on his vaccinations. He is healthy, happy and ready for a home of his own!

This sweet girl is Karma. She is a 4 year old Shepherd blend who absolutely loves people, and is house broken and loves to play with toys. She gets along with dogs as long as they are the same size as her or larger.  However, she does not appreciate smaller dogs at all.  She would make a great dog for a family or a single person as long as lots of love and toys are involved.

Karma comes with up to date age appropriate shots, dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, and heart worm negative. She is on monthly heart worm preventative and is micro chipped. The rescue pays for activation of the chip and up to a year of monitoring. Karma also comes with 30 days of free veterinary insurance to be activated by the adopters.

If you are interested in Karma, please contact Rainbow Bridge Can Wait at 58-654-2513, on Facebook or on Petfinder.
