What’s With All the Cats in Horror Movies? [VIDEO]

Normally I wouldn't add to the already overwhelming number of cat videos online, not to mention pictures, but this deserves a look. It wasn't until today that I realized how many cats are in horror films, it's worse that the internet by far! I watched this video earlier by Supercut 'It's Just A Cat' and it clearly shows another abused horror cliche'.

Almost every horror movie has the car that won't start, the flashlight that goes dead, that person who says "I'll be right back", the lady who can't seem to run 12 steps without tripping and it seems the cat jumping out and scaring someone is now on that list. I don't know how I could have missed this one...
