Allsup’s is Spreading Its Delicious Burritos to Even More Oklahoma Towns
Twenty-two months ago, the New Mexico/Texas convenience store brand Allsup's confirmed they were starting to slowly spread into Oklahoma. With a few locations in the Panhandle and far Southwest Oklahoma, they've been rather quiet for over a year.
As it stands, Allsup's has established locations in Altus, Frederick, Guymon, Madill, Broken Bow, and Thackerville. They've also recently completed locations in Davis, Atoka, Elk City, and Kiowa with more still planned before the end of the year.
Why is it news?
While it's been known to people in Southwest Oklahoma for a long time, Allsup's is often referred to as the West Texas Buc-ee's.
They don't have a beaver mascot or sprawling locations outside major metropolitan areas with hundreds of gas pumps... Allsup's is more of a small-town stop. Sure, they sell gas, but the big draw is the hot food case. It's the only place in the world you can find the humble and delicious Allsup's burrito.
It's so popular that the mascot might as well be a burrito... and as it happens, you can buy a polyester stuffed mascot burrito in stores alongside all sorts of weird Allsup's non-edible products.
Big shoutout to those keeping warm under an Allsup's blanket.
If you find yourself driving through some small Oklahoma town and you happen to spot an Allsup's, be bold and enjoy. The hot sauce is legit too.
