As we migrate through the season of actually decent weather, you can expect more and more community events to start popping up all over Southwest Oklahoma. This weekend, if the Arts for All art show isn't your bag and you're looking for something a little more, well, masculine, Caffeine & Chrome is probably right up your alley.

What started out as a small, niche event decades ago in Los Angeles, it seems that every community across America now has its version of Coffee & Cars. The little town of Apache is no different.

If you've never been to one, imagine a solid car show but without the late-night, black-out drunk stumbling back to the corner someone said there was a wet-t-shirt contest being held. Instead of booze, coffee is on the menu alongside polite conversation with your fellow automotive enthusiasts.

Here's another great thing about this type of car show... it's totally family-friendly. You don't have to worry about what your kiddoes might see or hear because it's mostly families putting the event on and showing up for a little high-octane downtown, main street shop talk.

The event starts at 8:30 Saturday morning (May 7th) and lasts through about noon. The kids will love all the kiddie stuff... a bounce house, pony rides, face painting, etc... Your better half will enjoy herself too with the farmers' market and crafty things that will be sold in the park. The coffee will be served with donuts, and a donation-only lunch will be offered later in the morning.

As if to put a cherry on top, Caffeine & Chrome is hosting a raffle for a US General 5-drawer tool cart... Buy your tickets now, the giveaway is in June, ask anyone at C&C for details, or check out their official facebook page for more.

We all know Guy Fieri is the self-proclaimed Mayor of Flavortown, and as such, we generally trust his discerning palate to guide us to the best food any place has to offer. Far too often, some bored Karen whose only personality trait is complaining about everything will say something along the lines of "There's nothing to do in Oklahoma..." That's simply not true.
