Where’s the Best Margarita in Lawton, Oklahoma?
Sometimes after a long day or week at work, the only thing that can kick off the weekend's relaxation is a proper sour margarita from your favorite place to have one... The question is, who makes your favorite margarita in Lawton Fort Sill?
I'm pretty sure this will scream "grew up in a smaller town" but I've always been a fan of the classic Chili's Presidente. I can even remember my first one on my twenty-second birthday.
I was never a big drinker, never touched the stuff in high school or college. I was my circle of friends' designated driver for, well, ever. I never judged anyone for drinking, it just wasn't my thing. Even after I turned "legal drinking age," I still had no urge to take it up as a hobby... probably because I was young and broke. It was an "I can pay the bills or buy booze" point in my life, and I'd rather eat well than forget about being broke.
I remember my twenty-second birthday fell weirdly on a Sunday and I don't remember why the family was out of town, but my b-day dinner was just a father-son event. We were celebrating back in my hometown and when we sat down at Chili's and he said, "order whatever you want," I opted to try the Presidente I'd been looking at for the past five years since Chili's came to our town of 25,000.
I'm still not a big drinker, but nothing beats a good, sour margarita on the rocks before a meal. I don't know if it's the salt or the sugar that preps your taste buds for awesomeness, but it hits the spot on a Friday night when you're kicking off the weekend.
Even after moving to Lawton, if I had a rare craving for a margarita, Chili's is where I'd end up. It never even dawned on me that this town had so many to offer. I never realized it was the world's most popular cocktail for a few more years after that. After trying as many as I have, I still want to try as many as I find. If you know who makes the best margarita in Lawton Fort Sill, holler at me. No need to keep your secrets in this day in age.
