Flat Earth Believers Claim A Portal Hides In Oklahoma Suburb
If you spend enough time online, you're sure to find a new Oklahoma conspiracy theory close to home. That's the case for what I stumbled across.
Some people believe there's a portal to the ice wall located in an OKC suburb.
Since that sentence doesn't make much sense, let me fill you in on the details.
Surely you're aware that some people believe the Earth is flat. Affectionately referred to as "Flat Earthers," who wholeheartedly believe that our planet is a flat disk falling through space.
Most will admit that the other planets in our solar system are spherical, because they've been observed to be globes, but Earth is the one planet in the entire galaxy that is flat. It's beyond wild.
The theory is that the Flat Earth is surrounded by a sprawling ice wall, which keeps the ocean water in place, and while we've been conditioned to think Antarctica is a continent, that's the wall.
If you can't picture it, stick a metaphorical couple of fingers into the South Pole and stretch the globe flat like a pizza dough. Antarctica surrounds us all, and the fact that no nation "owns" our Southern land mass, though every country is welcome to allow a small population of people to seasonally live there, for research purposes, proves that it's something completely out of Game of Thrones... I guess, I'm not super familiar with it either, the Flat Earth or the TV show.
The Oklahoma Portal.
If you're still reading, thanks, and bummer you're having such a slow day. This really is wild.
While it's accepted that people are ferried to and from Antarctica via ship traffic, in a smaller number of Flat Earthers, they believe privileged people come and go at will to the Antarctic Ice Wall through portals located throughout the world/flying disc, and these people have discovered that one of these portals is in the small OKC suburb of Bethany.
The research led to a closed grocery store near 23rd and MacArthur.
In both the post and the comments, people say it was suspiciously boarded up very fast, but the lights continue to be on night after night. On the face of it, that doesn't seem very suspicious. Businesses close all the time and without notice, especially in the seedy areas of big cities where theft and shoplifting are rampant problems, but the plot thickens.
One guy in the comments knows a guy who knows a guy who snuck in to take a look after the closure. They reported that ice was on the floor even though the freezers had been removed from the building.
The Building.
At one time, this was the local Walmart Neighborhood Market at 23rd and MacArthur in OKC/Bethany. According to Google, it closed between 2011 and 2014.
It has been a few things since then. Some say it was, or perhaps still is, partially a call center. There are signs on the building now detailing it as Bakery Bling.
Could they all be in on the Antarctic Ice Wall Portal cover-up? Meh... Odds are it's a good old-fashioned case of crazy being crazy. I am glad I stumbled across this stuff online though. It's still entertaining and always serves as a good reminder for me personally. No matter how bad my day is, at least I'm not the guy selling butt wipes on TikTok.
