The Comanche County Courthouse will be reopening this Monday (06-01-20). The courthouse will observe all the familiar CDC COVID-19 guidelines and protocols when it comes to social distancing, occupancy limits and sanitation. You'll also have to wear a face mask or covering like a bandana when entering the courthouse and while inside. During this initial reopening they'll be operating under new hours 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

If you have any business or appointments at the courthouse next week call ahead to ensure the department or bureau you're needing to contact is available. With this being the first time the courthouse has been open for the past several months it will definitely be busy so plan ahead and allow additional time for waits and lines.

Also the courthouse will no longer be performing weddings for the foreseeable future. There's a back log of court cases and other business that will need to be addressed first before they can return to doing courthouse marriages. However you can still obtain a marriage license by first filling out all the required forms at the Comanche County website. Once completed you'll need to submit it via email and they'll make an appointment for you to stop by the courthouse to pick up your marriage license.

Only 100 people will be permitted to enter the courthouse at a time not including employees so make sure you plan ahead. Also they've asked that you limit the number of people you bring with you unless absolutely necessary. Please leave children at home and anyone else who isn't required to conduct the business you're going to the courthouse for.
