Lawton Chads & Karens Take to Facebook to Complain About All the Noise

You probably heard and felt all the artillery from Fort Sill over the past couple of days. If you brought it up into conversation, odds are you've gotten two replies. It's either proudly proclaimed the "Sound of Freedom," or complaints about the noise.

Here's the thing, most of us who have lived here a while are so used to it, it's background noise. We really don't think much of it at all.

If you're new to Lawton and experiencing it for the first time, it could be a little unsettling, maybe even a little scary for the kids and pets if you aren't accustomed to being around it all the time.

Fort Sill has been hitting it hard with some serious munitions lately. They've been in the field doing exercises and it has literally shaken the ground in town. As wild as it seems, it's kind of awesome.

Of course, there were a few Chads & Karens who saw fit to jump on Facebook, hit all the feeds and forums, and complain about all the noise and tremors.

Now to be fair some of these people may be new to the area and have never lived near a military base before. Either way, it was hilarious seeing all these people complain about the noise and earth shakes. A lot of them were saying they just wanted a peaceful evening and were angry that Ft. Sill was practicing, which disturbed their plans and relaxation.

Needless to say, those who thought it was a good idea to post negative comments and complain on social media in a military town quickly regretted it. You'd think common sense would have them knowing better.

If the sound of freedom disturbs you and your evening plans you may want to consider a move. There will be times Fort Sill will be in the field during the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and even overnight perfecting their jobs.

It's always fun to see all the responses from U.S. Service Members and locals. I'd be willing to bet these Chads and Karens will think twice before they post any more ridiculous comments and complaints on Facebook again.
