Honestly, I can see both sides of the argument. I will say that by moving Trick or Treating to the Saturday before Halloween makes it a little easier, especially if you have small children. This way all the kids and families can really enjoy Halloween and not have to rush home to get to bed for school and work the next day. Plus, we get the entire weekend to celebrate Halloween by doing it like this. But that's just my opinion.
I do see that moving the holiday, or at least Trick or Treating takes away from the Halloween spirit and the traditions. I mean we don't do this to Christmas, Easter, the Fourth of July, or any of the other holidays. So I do get why some people are upset by this. What do you think?
