Duncan Oklahoma Will Host An Air Show This Year
In a real quick-hitting, get the info out there way, Duncan's Halliburton Field Airport will play host to the CAF Airpower History Tour for three straight days, November 7th, 8th, and 9th.
If you've never been to a Commemorative Air Force show, things are a little different. Not only do they put on dazzling displays and allow people to get up-close and personal in the aircraft, but you can also take a ride on many of the planes if you choose.
So what planes can you expect? Well, here's the list.
You'll get to watch, tour, and ride in a B-29 Superfortress - AKA - the most technologically advanced bomber of WWII. Famed for being the only aircraft in history to drop nuclear ordnance. This is one of only two B-29s that still fly.
You'll also see, tour, and get the chance to ride in another WWII heavy-hitter, a B-24 Liberator heavy bomber. It is also one of only two remaining airworthy B-24s of the original 19,256 that were built. A very rare treat for anyone to experience.
A legendary P-51 Mustang and T-6 Texan will also be at the show, as well as other aircraft such as President Eisenhower's personal L-26B - AKA - the smallest aircraft to ever fly with the "Air Force One" designation. If you have pockets deep enough, you can book a flight on every single one of these planes.
While the air show is still months away, the planes are bound to book up fast for personal rides. If you'd like to secure your place for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, click here to visit the CAF Airpower History Tour website for prices and booking.
Before you get sticker shock from the prices, keep in mind most of these planes cost an absurd amount of money to maintain and thousands of dollars per hour to fly. Prices reflect that, but can you really put a price on a once-in-a-lifetime experience like that?
