Free Rodeo for Youngest Cowboys and Girls This Weekend!
My oldest Granddaughter, McKayla, has been taking horseback riding lessons since she was 3 years old. Her love of all things horses has continued to grow, in fact, she now has her own horse, and this weekend, she will compete for a buckle in the 1st ever Reeds Red Dirt Ranch Rodeo.
Free Youth Rodeo This Weekend
Many of you know Sherry Reed, as she has taught kids all over Southwest Oklahoma how to ride. Don & Sherry Reed now have their own arena, and are so excited to host this event for kids.
There is no registration fee, or entry fee. Just come out and cheer kids as they make it through their events.
"Kids compete in lots of sports growing up, and they get medals or trophies, but kids that ride, just ride to ride. This event gives students the opportunity to earn buckles doing what they love."
The rodeo takes place on Saturday, September 25 beginning at 10am, with events including Barrels, Pole Bending, Flag Pole, Potato, Goat Tying & Goat Undressing, and open to ages Tiny Tots, Tots, Peanuts, Pee Wee, and Junior Divisions. Buckles will be awarded in Each Event.
Two more of my Grands will join their sister for their first ever competition rodeo! Lucas is 9 and McKenna is 3. They both started lessons earlier this year. McKenna is still on a lead line, but will still have to do the work of a cowgirl to be able to compete.
If you've never seen kids compete in Rodeo events, you should really try to make it out. What you will see is hard work and dedication of each rider, no matter the age.
Reeds Red Dirt Rodeo, 9706 SE Baseline Road. Sponsorship opportunities available if you'd like to help make young riders dreams come true!
