If you’ve spent any time on social media, you’ve probably heard people clamoring for a Buc-ee’s in Oklahoma.

“Why don’t we have one?”

“When are we getting one?”

As if the state will collapse without a beaver-branded gas station selling brisket sandwiches and buckets of beaver nuggets.

But here’s the thing... Oklahoma already has our own "Buc-ee's."

It’s called Gasquatch. A giant Bigfoot-themed gas station way down in that mysterious pocket of Oklahoma pines. Where the roads wind with the hills, and everyone has their own Bigfoot story. Yeah, it's in Big Meth Country around Idabel.

You can’t get more Oklahoma than a roadside stop themed entirely around Bigfoot.

While Buc-ee’s has its oversized (and amazing) bathrooms and beef jerky walls... Gasquatch has a 30-foot Bigfoot statue staring you down from the parking lot.

This isn’t corporate kitsch dreamed up in a boardroom, it’s part of the Sooner State's local lore.

Southeastern Oklahoma has been a hotspot for Bigfoot sightings for decades.

People in these parts will tell you they’ve smelled him, heard him, maybe even had him steal a cooler or two from camp. Whether you believe that or not, you’ve got to admit: it’s a much more interesting mascot than a cartoon beaver in a red ball cap.

Inside, Gasquatch doesn’t mess around. They’ve got fuel pumps for days, a giant convenience store, a muscle-car museum, their own BBQ, sweet treats, and merch so heavy on Sasquatch puns it’s practically a regional dialect.

You can get Bigfoot T-shirts, mugs, shot glasses, and even a bag of “Squatch Snacks” for the road. Add in that you’re never more than five feet away from a conversation about America's most famous and elusive monster, it's like comparing apples with small-block Chevy's.

That’s the charm Buc-ee’s can’t compete with, they're too shiny and polished, and their glorious stores feel more like a chain mini-mall shop than anything else.

Still, props on the Buc-ee's bathrooms. They really do stand alone.

Gasquatch feels like an Oklahoma story you stepped into. It’s the kind of place where you half expect the guy pumping gas next to you to casually mention that his cousin’s trail cam caught something weird last weekend.

Sure, Buc-ee’s is fun, nobody can deny that. It's a rite of passage while you're in Texas... but Oklahoma doesn’t need to import someone else’s roadside culture. We’ve got our own. And in this case, ours is bigger, hairier, and maybe just a little more believable than a beaver selling brisket.

So the next time someone tells you Oklahoma needs a Buc-ee’s, send them south to Idabel. Tell them to keep their camera ready. You never know what you’ll see in them pines.

Where Should Buc-ee's Build Their First Oklahoma Location?

With Buc-ee's being back on the expansion bandwagon, Oklahomans are feeling like we're due for our first location... but where should the beaver conglomerate start in the Sooner State?

After compiling information from social media, here's a quick rundown on the locations Okies think would be a perfect fit for 24/7 hot brisket on the board.
