We've seen the teasers and trailers and TV spots, but today Warner Bros. and Legendary have blessed us with a special extended preview of 'Godzilla,' bigger and more intimidating than ever, and filled with more looks at the monster than we've seen before.

Released via the official Facebook page, this extended look helps us get to know the characters and their relationships a little better, while also highlighting the massive damage the monster creates and the real impact it has on humanity, both on a large and more intimate scale. Showing the terror and pain caused by monsters in these epics isn't something normally focused on, but here the disaster feels more harrowing than in something like 'Pacific Rim' (but hey, we still love 'Pacific Rim').

We learned back during last summer's Comic-Con that, in addition to Godzilla, multiple other monsters will be wreaking havoc, and now we get a better look at what to expect from them on the big screen. In case you missed them, we've included screenshots from the 'Godzilla' preview below:

Directed by Gareth Edwards, 'Godzilla' brings the legendary monster back to life, as humans race to stop the gargantuan threat from destroying civilization. Among the human cast are Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Juliette Binoche, and Ken Watanabe.

The official synopsis:

An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

'Godzilla' stomps into theaters on May 16.
