I can't believe it's taken us this long, but we finally have a much more sanitary way of blowing out Birthday candles without getting germs all over the cake. All it took was a nationwide, better yet worldwide pandemic for us to change old habits and learn new ways to do things. I have to admit I've always found the blow out the candles tradition on a birthday cake a little gross, especially when kids attempt to blow out the candles.

This video isn't new, it was originally posted back in 2016 on YouTube channel Vindog Unleashed but it's more relevant today than ever. This guy has been training for the COVID-19 pandemic for years and by now I'm sure is an expert on contamination prevention and germ warfare. While it's funny, the video and instruction make sense. Do you really want someone blowing all over your food? I didn't think so.

I have to admit the whole Birthday candle tradition is pretty bad when it comes to health and spreading germs. I really didn't think much about it before, but now with COVID-19 we're trying to avoid any type of contamination if at all possible. We've all been at a Birthday party where the cake was basically spit on with all the attempts to blow out the candles. Kids, especially little kids are the worst. They basically raspberry the cake, table and party guests. Not exactly an ideal thing these days. So I think I'll give this a try instead. Or just have a candle-less cake to avoid the whole thing.
