Like most brick-and-mortar retailers and honestly, just about everyone else, they're struggling to recover from the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to all the shutdowns and lack of sales, a lot of businesses haven't been able to recover. After struggling for so long a lot of stores end up having to close.
Adding to the difficulty it's next to impossible to compete with online retailers. Most people are now doing the vast majority of their shopping online. Thanks to the pandemic it's estimated that the popularity of online shopping and retails exploded and advanced by close to 10 years in a matter of 2 according to the experts.
Bed Bath & Beyond will be offering discounts and special sales leading up to the closing
We stopped by Bed Bath & Beyond earlier today to confirm the news and see if we could get any details. At this time we're not too sure exactly when it will close. In the meantime, the store is doing all kinds of liquidation/clearance sales. Right now they're offering 20% off everything in the store. Once the inventory has been sold the doors will close permanently. We get one last holiday season to shop at Bed Bath & Beyond.
It's terrible news anytime a business closes. Not only does it reduce options and competition, but think of all the people who will be losing their jobs. Image too getting this awful news right before Christmas, that's got to be the absolute worst. Luckily we do have a few new businesses that are coming to town next year.
