There really is no state like Oklahoma. For better or worse, leave the politics and economics out of it, and the Sooner State is way more than just flyover territory. Our state is awesome.

First, while many like to paint all of the wide open spaces as a bad thing, it's completely the opposite. Finding a new place to explore is universally something everyone needs once in a while, and there's no shortage of places to explore in Oklahoma.

Whether you like to hike, learn, find beauty, shoot guns, ride motorcycles and ATVs, tour massive caves underground, dig for crystals, et cetera... You can do it all in Oklahoma. You just have to be willing to drive to find it.

There are no boring places in Oklahoma.

Growing up in a small town, the most common complaint was: there's nothing to do.

As I've moved around to different states and lived in small, medium, large, and massive cities, this is still the #1 complaint everyone has.

Imagine living in Houston, Dallas, or Oklahoma City and having nothing to do... It's bewildering, but life is the same in every town across the country.

There are no boring places, only boring people.

If you do find yourself fidgeting with boredom, know that's just who you are. You just need to grow enough gumption to get up and go explore the world around you.

There are thousands of things to do across Oklahoma, border to border, even in the panhandle. You just need the inspiration to make you go see it.

Next time you're bored, remember one of these epic things every Oklahoman has to experience before they die.

Oklahoma's Best 4th of July Celebrations

There's nothing like celebrating America's independence in the heartland, and Oklahoma practically overflows with patriotism across the state. While most towns have their own celebrations, some are larger than others. Since it would be hard to catch all of them in one day, they're spread out a bit over two and a half weeks, pick one or more and let your American flag fly.
