Oklahoma COVID Vaccination Portal Now Open
The OSDH (Oklahoma State Department of Health) has launched their new COVID-19 vaccination portal. It will be used as a scheduling tool to help Oklahomans determine when they are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and help them schedule an appointment when it is their turn. This will be the fastest and easiest way to get in line, request a vaccination and stay up to date with the various rollout phases.
At this time only first responders, healthcare professionals, those with increased exposure risk due to their job, high risk persons with compromised immune systems and those who are 65 years of age or older are eligible to receive the vaccine. If you're currently eligible and meet the above criteria visit www.vaccinate.oklahoma.gov to sign up and schedule an appointment and notifications.
Everyone can and is encouraged to pre-register even if you're not eligible at this time for a vaccination. When you sign up and fill out the questionnaire and application you can select an option to be notified when you'll be eligible as Oklahoma works it's way through all the phases. It will also let you know when an appointment for vaccination is available once your phase is active. Visit the FAQ on the OSDH site for more details.
Here in Lawton the Comanche County Health Department started performing COVID-19 vaccinations this week for those 65 and older and others who meet Phase 2 criteria. They're completely booked up at this time but plan to do another round once they receive more vaccine. Check their official Facebook page often for updates. Eventually everyone will have the option to be vaccinated as we work through the phases.
