Resilient Oklahoma Team Looks To Bounce Back In Little League World Series
Oklahoma’s girls are still in it.
After a tough 1-0 loss to Pennsylvania on Thursday, Oklahoma’s Little League Softball World Series hopes aren’t over, just delayed. The team will now face Florida in a must-win matchup to keep their tournament dreams alive.
If you know anything about Oklahoma softball, it’s that a single loss doesn’t rattle our girls.
Pennsylvania got the better of them yesterday, capitalizing on their dominant pitching game and pulling out a run to put them ahead late in the game. But this isn’t Oklahoma's first rodeo. Oklahoma’s team knows how to battle back, especially with the kind of defensive discipline and big bats they’ve been showing all summer.
Tomorrow, they face Florida, a team known for its speed on the bases and scrappy play.
If you've followed the series, you know it's a rematch. Oklahoma sent Florida to the losers' bracket earlier this week, so the tension and drama couldn't be higher.
Oklahoma’s got the grit, the gloves, and the bats. And maybe more importantly? They’ve got something to prove.
The Little League World Series format gives teams like Oklahoma a second chance. It’s not a straight shot, you’ve got to fight your way through double-elimination. But if Oklahoma is better than any other state in the nation at anything, it's producing championship softball players.
