Oklahoma State Fair Organizers Are Weighing Options
Remain calm there's no need to panic, all's well. So far it looks like the Oklahoma State Fair will happen this year, at least that's the plan so far. The rumors have been flying all over the internet and elsewhere that they were cancelling, that's not true. However there are a few events, exhibits and attractions that will be on hold, or won't be happening at this year's state fair. But the State fair itself is still a go at this time.
The Oklahoma State Fair will take place Thursday, September 17th 2020 through Sunday, September 27th 2020 (09-17-20 - 09-27-20) in Oklahoma City, OK. at the State Fair Park. Due to the COVD-19 pandemic organizers are weighing their options and doing everything they can to open safely and follow all the CDC and state guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The safety of their guests and vendors is of upmost priority and they will make changes and modifications to help ensure that.
Some of the events and exhibits may or may not happen this year. One of the biggest cancellations which may have caused some of the confusion with people thinking the fair was cancelled is Disney on ice. Unfortunately they won't be a part of this year's fair as mentioned in the Oklahoma State Fair press release. Organizers will continue to monitor the situation and make any required changes as we get closer to the event.
Hopefully things will improve and we'll start seeing a slow down of new cases and infections in the next couple of months. With all the other cancellations and closings it would be awful for the state fair to shut down as well. I can''t wait for 2020 to end and hope next year will be better, it has to be.
