While all Oklahoma lakes maybe even in the sense that they're all 100% man-made, not all lakes are equal to each other in the quality of fish.

Because all of Oklahoma's lakes are man-made, they're 100% stocked with all manner of fish. From the baitfish like minnows and shad to the apex predators like largemouth and hybrid striped bass. Catfish too... if you're into that sort of thing.

Still, not all lakes are equal. Some get more of one species than another, some lakes even get the exotic species all anglers are targeting. For instance, some of Oklahoma's best fishing lakes are stocked with Florida bass and the Northern/Florida hybrids. Even fewer lakes receive the hard-fighting smallmouth bass, and only one lake in the Sooner State has a population of Northern US Tiger Muskie.

If you wanted to target one of those toothy beasts, you'd have to drive a few hundred miles into the abyss of a panhandle we have, way out to Kenton, OK.

If you wanted to catch an Oklahoma Bowfin, you'd probably be best fishing way down in Meth Country-SEOK... but if you wanted to catch big bass, including Florida-strain and smallmouth, here are some of the best fishing lakes Oklahoma has to offer this fall.
