I am a Summer girl all the way.  I love it when it heats up, and I love spending hours upon hours outside, whether at the lake or at the pool, or even at the racetrack.

Summer officially starts this Sunday, which is also Father's Day.  It will be the longest day of the year.  Perfect in my book!  School has been out for a couple of weeks now, and if you are like me, it is probably the farthest thing from your mind.

Not for Lawton Public Schools however!  They are on it.  Just this week, LPS published the list of school supplies for the upcoming school year.  Now I love a good supply list, in fact, even though I have no children at home any longer, I absolutely love it when school supplies start to fill the isles of the big box stores.  There is a certain smell to school supplies.  Like a cross between melted crayons, and pencil lead, with a side of Big Chief tablet.  I have found myself more than once, just buying school supplies for no reason.  I use the excuse that I need some pens, or mechanical pencils, and even though I'm not even sure what a protractor is used for, you never know when one might come in handy.

With the extra government Child Care Credit money that starts next month for parents with school age children, I can assume the reason to get those lists out early is for parents to plan ahead for the upcoming school year, instead of waiting for the last minute.  I for one am glad that I do not have to make a choice between my pool and back to school shopping before Summer even starts.

Here is a list of school supplies for Lawton Public Schools.  Be aware that other schools may need other or additional items.  Click on the picture to save it to your computer so you will have it for future reference.  Maybe like after Summer actually begins.
