An auto parts retailer with thousands of stores across the U.S. has announced plans to close locations as it attempt to improve its business.

Sadly there are more store closings at Lawton's Central Plaza. It seems more and more retailers are exiting the old mall and either opening elsewhere or leaving completely. Find out what stores have just packed up and left.

You may have heard this rumor that's being spread online and elsewhere about the TJ Maxx in Lawton, OK. closing. It's been all over the interwebs and Facebook, so is there any truth to this rumor? Are we about to lose TJ Maxx in Lawton, OK?

Remain calm, all's well, there's certainly no need to panic. Yes, the Chick-fil-A on Cache road has closed temporarily due to COVID-19 exposure, but will re-open soon. Maybe as soon as next week, or the week after. We wish all involved and the entire staff at Chick-fil-A on Cache all the best and a speedy return!

An official statement hasn't been made yet, but we're hearing that the Kay Jewelers store at the Central Mall in Lawton will be closing. It's been shut down for months now when the COVID-19 pandemic started and has remained closed ever since. Here at the office we have several people who have made recent purchases, have jewelry on lay-away, items that are currently being cleaned or repaired. They've shared with us that Kay will be closing.

The COVID-19 pandemic has done more than it's fair share of damage to the health and well being of not just people, but businesses over the post several months. There are hundreds if not thousands of business who's fate is still unknown, or who have unfortunately already closed due to corona virus. Now it's looking like Chuck E. Cheese might be the next victim of COVID-19.

Unfortunately there's another local business closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mountain Boomer Tavern announced last week that they would be closing their doors permanently.

It's looking like Lawton, Fort Sill maybe facing another store closing, this time Tuesday Morning in the Cache Road Square. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the retailer hard and they've recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They'll be closing around 130 stores with an additional 100 stores closing at a later date.

We've been hearing rumors for the past several days online and elsewhere that the Lawton Dillard's in the Central Mall is closing. Sadly it's not a rumor anymore, it's been confirmed and they will be closing the Dillard's here in Lawton.

School closings have been as much a part of winter this year as brutal snowstorms, so one school decided to have some fun with it.

Fort Sill will have delayed opening for the next few days. The AAFES Exchange at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Mow-Way Road will remain open 24/7. (More details follow)
