Chick-fil-A on Cache Closed Due to COVID-19

With it being payday today I thought I'd go to the new Chick-fil-A on Cache Road for some lunch. I started to pull in and noticed the parking lot was completely empty, that should have been my first clue, it's never empty. Then I saw all the orange cones blocking the entry and realized it was closed. Sadly it closed down on Thursday night (08-13-20) of this week due to positive COVID-19 cases and exposure.

For the health and safety of both employees and customers the Chick-fil-A on Cache will be closed temporarily. We're hearing it could be re-opened as early as week next or the week after. Talk about terrible luck, I feel so bad for everyone involved. I can't imagine how upsetting this has to be, especially after spending all that time remodeling and rebuilding the entire restaurant and property.

It just opened back up a week or so ago after a massive remodel and now this. The sign on the door reads: "We are temporarily closed. Our restaurant is following CDC guidance and taking precautions to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to  serving you again soon." It also lists a website: www.chick-fil-a/corona-virus.com

Currently Chick-fil-A is working closely with the Comanche Country Health Department and the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) to ensure all the required sanitation and other precautions are met. All the employees who were exposed are self quarantined and will have to remain so for up to two weeks.

I had the chance to speak with Jonathan Pickett the owner/manager today to get the news straight from the horse's mouth. He told me first thing that they'd be taking care of all the employees. That's just the kind of guy he is and the kind of company Chick-fil-A is. They were absolutely doing everything right. All the usual CDC protocols were being adhered to. From masks, sanitation to social distancing they were all in place and being practiced at all times.

Anytime I was there, which has been frequently, they always followed the rules. Not only that the health department itself praised them for their efforts and how well they managed all the safety and health guidelines. It just goes to show you that you can do everything right and still have issues with this virus. The place was immaculate, but with the exposure the entire facility is being stripped cleaned and sanitized over the next couple of days.

Hopefully all will go well and we'll see it re-open next week, if not the week after. It largely depends on staffing and how quickly all trained and experienced employees can return to work safely. They may have to modify available menu items in the short term until the entire staff is able to return to work. Whatever they're serving I'll be in line, it's Chick-fil-A!
