Thanks to all of this rain we've had, lake levels have improved. So much, in fact, they opened 6 of the 8 spillway gates at Lake Lawtonka. It was impressively loud!

As lake levels continue to improve, we're still in dire straights. As a fisherman, I hate reading lake level reports.

Waurika, Ft. Cobb, Luggert, Ellsworth... All impressive hybrid and respected bass lakes, all low. Heck, after surveying every inch of water left in Luggert, the state biologists didn't find a single fish living. Ft. Cobb had issues last year with deadly algae blooms... and the only fishing stories I hear from Ellsworth surround catfish. Ain't nobody got time for catfish.

Even as the city has now loosened water restrictions, it seems like a bad idea. We've received a band-aid of precipitation this month. We're still in a considerable drought, and will remain until we receive more water. It just seems like yet another bad call from those in charge.
