Following TMZ Sports release of the video showing now former Baltimore Raven running back Ray Rice punching his then fiance' Janay Palmer in the elevator of an Atlantic City Hotel, the National Football League suspended the embattled running back and his team rescinded his contract.

Now his wife, Janay Rice originally came out in her attacker's defense, taking the blame for the incident saying she didn't want a one time occurrence to ruin his career. Now she has posted on her Instagram account once again defending her husband and blaming the situation on the media's response to the grainy video released yesterday by TMZ Sports:

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," Janay Rice wrote. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.

"THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

Rice was originally suspended two games by the league and would have been eligible to return to the team after the Ravens' game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday. Now, under the leagues new Domestic Violence policy, Rice, who is suspended indefinitely, will not be eligible for re-instatement for at least 1 year. Also, any team that signs him at that point will have to submit his contract for league approval before he can join that team. I hope the Rice's take that time to get some serious counseling, there appears, at least from the outside looking in, to be some serious anger control and denial issues in this relationship.
