Third Annual Johnny D. Memorial Grub Run Set for March 26 in Frederick, OK
John Morton, who passed away unexpectedly October 1st, 2019, is the inspiration for this run. He was an avid motorcycle rider who could often be heard and seen riding his Indian Chieftain through southwest Oklahoma with the #CWCrew. The Tillman County Food Bank provides services that he felt passionate about supporting.
In March 2020, the Johnny D. Memorial Grub Run began, taking Morton's favorite route through southwest Oklahoma to include The Wildlife Refuge, Medicine Park, and rural scenic routes. All funds raised go to help restock the shelves so the food bank can continue servicing the hungry in southwest Oklahoma.
The first ride in 2020 had to be postponed until June 6th due to the pandemic. Riders were ready to ride by then with 37 bikes and 5 cars with a total of 47 participants. Through their generosity, they were able to provide 5,000 meals for the food bank.
For our 3rd Annual Ride on March 26th, 2022, our goals are to have 75 bikes and 10 cars with a total of 100 participants. Our goal is to provide 20,000 meals.
The ride is open to ANY STREET LEGAL vehicle. It is a family friendly ride.
We strongly encourage the community that isn't riding to join us for the afternoon cookout. It is a great time hearing about the day's ride while enjoying a meal and winning door prizes!
