This Lawton Barndaminium Might Be the Most Perfect House In America
Every great once in a while, you'll stumble across something online that not only speaks to your heart but also speaks to your soul. It's not very often that it happens for me unless I see an old tool or a cheap deal on a good dirt bike, but this time it was a house that has come up for sale East of Lawton.
Now the idea of building a big country shop then stuffing a house inside of it isn't exactly new... the first one I saw was back in the late 1990's when they were called Morton Building Homes and they were for so-called "rednecks"... but the idea has reached peak popularity in 2021 and the trend has been dubbed building a "Barndaminium."
Let's admit it... What self-respecting, wrench-turning, gasoline-fueled, wood-cutting, stuff-building man wouldn't love to have a shop in his house? Instead of walking across muddy dirt and gravel to work in the shop on a rainy day, you'd just step out the designated hall door and be in that shop. That is my idea of heaven, and like anything so completely awesome and perfect, it comes at a steep price.
Out East of Lawton, there is one such perfect home that I honestly feel was purposely built just for me. It has a big house, a huge shop, a four-car garage/man cave, a car lift, a motocross track, a fishing pond, and 23 acres to do whatever you want with.
The whole barn is give-or-take 9000 square feet. The 3-bed home built inside is about 2300 square feet. Granted, this is proof that money can't buy you good taste, but a little paint, swap out the "art," lay down nearly a million dollars and presto, you're in my own personal dream home.
Here are a few pictures of the property for sale, be sure to see the incredible shop pictures at the bottom.
