Tiny House Cabins Now Available Outside OK’s National Park
I've said it a million times before, but the Chickasaw National Recreation Area is the crown jewel of outdoor Oklahoma. Born as Platt National Park, later renamed, parts of it are like driving through Yellowstone. It truly is a wonderful and extremely affordable in-state getaway locale.
Inside the Chickasaw National Recreation Area is one of the best fishing lakes in Oklahoma too, Lake of the Arbuckles - AKA - Arbuckle Lake. It's pretty big water for most, especially when the winds blow those three and four foot rollers down the coves, but still, it has produced tons of big trophy bass over the years. Up the mountain from Arbuckle, you'll find Veterans Lake. It's a fantastic small lake to fish when the winds chase you off the big water. The fish aren't as big, but they bite.
Lodging around the CNRA isn't a secret sort of thing. There are cabins for rent, tons of RV spots, primitive camping options, a massive casino hotel, and various Airbnb's in Sulphur. That's where I found these tiny-home cabin rentals, at AirBnb.
I'm not exactly sure why it's taken so long for the tiny-home trend to reach central Oklahoma, but it's making a splash. With such easy access to Chickasaw National Recreation Area, and a really affordable rate, it's a no-brainer for anyone looking for a little in-state getaway.
Besides the national park out the front door and world class bass fishing, the other big draw to Sulphur is the literal "World Class" spa at the casino there. Renowned nationwide, and adorned with several awards to back the claim. If you're into that kind of stuff, here's the link.
