We would like to start off this week's Pet Patrol by welcoming our new sponsor, Midtown Animal Hospital. Right now, until Friday, get 20% off spay and neutering at Midtown Animal Clinic.

There are many organizations throughout Southwest Oklahoma dedicated to pets and pet adoptions. From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family.

Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol will be highlighting adoptable pets from throughout the Southwest Oklahoma area, hoping to find furr-ever homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.

This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.

Please remember to spay and neuter your pets, and of course to adopt, not shop!

SUCCESS STORY

The biggest success story we can claim with the Pet Patrol happened this week. Do you remember Jed, who had escaped while on a visit to the vet? Jed was being treated for cancer and was badly in need of medicine to support his fight. Well, this week, thanks to some very kind people, Jed found his way home and now back in treatment for his battle. Jed does look happy to finally be home, doesn't he?

Meet Sasha! Isn't she beautiful? And she is every bit as much fun as she looks in her picture! Sasha is a 1-year old Basset mix who came to us as an owner surrender because of conflicts with the family cat. Sasha will need a cat-free home.

Other than her cat intolerance, Sasha is just about perfect! She loves children, is social and people-oriented and gets along with other dogs. She is leash-trained and loves to go on walks; and also has nice house manners. She has always been an inside dog and, according to her previous owners, is house-trained.

Sasha is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and tested negative for heart worms. Please call the Shelter, 580-252-7387, for more information about this beautiful girl and how you can make her your very own!

    Rainbow Bridge Can Wait - 580 919-0439

This is Tux, a border collie mix, who is approximately 1 year old. He is an out going, happy go lucky ball of energy who likes his chew toys. He is doing much better on the leash and he likes his kennel. He sometimes even puts him self in it for a nap.

Tux is a little bit greedy about food with other fur friends, but doesn't mind sharing people or kiddos. He's good with other dogs and cats and doesn't even seem to notice the bunny. He is doing well with house training but has a few accidents from time to time when he's left alone for too long.

Tux's adoption fee is $140.00.  He comes neutered, up to date on age appropriate shot, de wormed and heart negative.  Tux is also microchipped and the rescue will pay for up to one year of monitoring as well as activation.

Please contact Rainbow Bridge Can Wait on FB or Petfinder if you are interested in this sweet boy.

Drake is an adorable 7 year old boxer  looking for a chance at another home. Housebroken, outgoing, super sweet with people, great with other dogs but no alpha dogs because he gets bullied and okay with cats.

He also will need a family with older children, little kids he has been with before would climb on him and he didn't care for that very much.  He has done well in our play group especially with smaller dogs. He loves to cuddle and he won't pass up a treat!

We welcome anyone interested in Drake to reach out to us for more information at www.pchumane.org or by calling us at 580-767-8877. Don't pass up a great dog, Drake is worth the drive to our location 900 W Prospect, Ponca City, OK 74601.
