From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find furr-ever homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.

This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.

The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitties 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!

The Stephens Country Humane Society would like to introduce everyone to Harley. This poor girl was found wandering the country side as a stray with nobody to care for her. She is just a bit timid when you first meet her, but once she forms a bond with her human companion, it's a bond that won't be broken.

Harley is loving, loyal and sweet as candy! She is great with children, other dogs and even feline friends. She knows no stranger.

For more information about Harley, or any of our other dogs, please call the SCHS Animal Shelter at 580-252-7387.

This young man is Prince, a young Rott/lab blend who is a very sweet, playful guy. He's very friendly with other dogs & people of all types & sizes. When with other playful dogs, he likes to play hard but is respectful with dogs that aren't interested in playing. He is both house & kennel trained, but is still a puppy & enjoy time to play & run when outside before taking care of business.

Prince knows sit & will stay as long as he can see his human. Although he has not shown serious food issues he has been kennel fed & that would recommend continuing that if in a home with other dogs.

Prince comes up to date with age appropriate shots.  He is heart worm negative and on monthly heart worm preventative. He has been on monthly flea and tick preventive and given deworming medication.  Prince is also neutered and microchipped. The reduce pays for activation and up to one year of monitoring of the the chip.  His adoption fee is $140.00.  If you are interested in Prince, please contact Rainbow Bridge Can wait on Facebook or Pet Finder.

Meet Dingle! He is an adult, neutered male Pitbull mix, who was abandoned by his previous owner. He came to stay with us in January, and at the time he came into the shelter he was extremely afraid and no longer trusted people. Over time he has learned that there are still good people in the world and now he's a happy, goofy boy.

We are unsure how Dingle would react to other dogs or cats, but he does seem to like children. To meet this handsome boy, call the Altus Animal Shelter at 580 481-2285

Willbarger Animal Shelter (Vernon, TX) - 940 552-5373

This handsome young feline is named Bevo, a Ragdoll, Siamese, Snowshoe mix, who is about 4 years old. He was originally adopted from us as a kitten but his owner has gotten older and is no longer able to take care of him.

Bevo was declawed as a kitten so he does not have his front claws, meaning he would need to be inside only. Sadly this has caused a minor issue of back pain in Bevo. He has been evaluated and is on a twice daily dose of pain killer for his back. Before the pain medicine, he would nip or bite if he was upset or wanted attention. Both behaviors have slowed, and he has become more playful since the back pain has lessened.

If you are looking for a beautiful, sweet, cuddly cat please consider Bevo. He can be seen by appointment as he is in a foster home at this time. If you are thinking of adopting and are interested in being Bevo's hero, please come put an application in on this boy in need.

We are located at 2801 Sullivan St in Vernon Tx. You can reach us by phone at 940-552-5373 or by email at whs76384@gmail.com. To put an application on any of our animals please visit www.wilbargerhumanesocietyvernontx.org
