From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital, highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.

This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.

The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitty 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!

This is Joy, and she is appropriately named. This year-old boxer mix loves children, gets along with other dogs, ignores cats and is just a joy to be around.

Joy is house trained, is up-to-date on her vaccinations, neutered, and her adoption fee has been paid by OK Paintless Dent Repair. She is looking for a new special someone to curl up and snuggle and cuddle with. Please call 580-252-7387 for more information.

Hi my name is Falcon, and I'm looking for a nice young couple, who would be willing to open their home and of course yard for me to play and lay around in. I love tennis balls and long walks. I enjoy quiet time and music too. So, how about you come down here and let's have a short conversation together and see if we can come to an understanding.
We'll see ya down here at Lawton Animal Welfare, 2104 SW 6th Street, and let me ask you a few questions, and see if we can make a connection that will last a lifetime.

This is Polly. She is a little shy around new people but warms up after some time. I believe she is fairly young, between 1 to 2 years old. She looks like she is part border collie. She's a medium sized girl who was picked up as a stray with a lab male. No one has claimed them and they both need a forever home.

For more information, or to meet Polly, please call the Carnegie Animal Shelter at 580-682-9073 or the Town Hall at 580-654-1004.

Hi there…my name is Benny and I am a super sweet male Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. I can be a bit shy at first, but I will warm up and show you that I am a very loving little lap buddy.  I think I an about 18 months old, and I am good with other dogs, but I really prefer to be on your lap or snuggled under the covers with you.

I am housebroken, neutered, and I have received all my shots: rabies, Parvo/distemper and Bordatella or kennel cough vaccine. I tested negative for heartworms, so the vet put me on a preventative. I have also been microchipped.

For more information about adopting me, e-mail swoan@swbell.net.

Willbarger Humane Society (Vernon, TX) - 940 552-5373

Our featured pet this week is Scarlet. This sweet girl is 8 months old and is a Yorkie mix. She was sadly either given a cheep form of flea and tick treatment or possibly a dose that was for a much larger dog. Either way this sweet girl now has a permanent scar running down her back. She does not let that bother her.

Scarett loves children, adults, and most other animals. She likes attention and to play but mostly she likes to be held and loved on. She would be a good dog for anyone.

If you are interested in meeting Scarlett, come visit her at the shelter. You can reach us by phone at 940-552-5373 or by email at whs76384@gmail.com. To put an application on any of our animals please visit www.wilbargerhumanesocietyvernontx.org
