9+ Inches of Rain Forecasted for a Huge Portion of Oklahoma
The storms aren't supposed to start until late in the evening, but this weekend is going to be a big wet soaker across most of Oklahoma.
There will be a little hail and wind to kick things off on Friday evening, thunderstorms on Saturday, and likely more rain on Sunday. Up to nearly 10 inches across a huge portion of the Sooner State if the forecast holds up.
While soaking rain is always welcome in Oklahoma, some of the driest areas won't see as much as they need in the Northwest corner of the state.

I think Southwest OK is tired of hail. Big hail has been the trend down here for the last couple of years, so this isn't the greatest forecast to be heading into.
In 2023, when Lawton's record double-hail-storm came sweeping through, dumping softball-sized hail for three solid hours, someone made a pretty bold declaration the windmills North of town blew it all in.
Aside from the hail, it's the rain that seems to be making the biggest headlines. So many places need the rain, my lawn included.
Of course, other meteorological outlets are playing this system more conservatively.
Time will tell how accurate the predictions are, but we should all hope for gentle, soaking rain and none of the solid stuff.
Luckily, tornado potential is super-low.
