David Draiman Reaches Out On Stage About Metal Health and Addiction
As men, we're supposed to be strong. We're supposed to be leaders of other men. We're not supposed to feel emotions. That's what we expect of ourselves and others, but it doesn't leave room for being human first. You don't realize how hard it is to keep dark secrets shaded until you feel the relief of letting it go. Sometimes you need to reach out, and that's hard for a man. We're not supposed to right? But I can tell you, the moment you reach out and get whatever is bothering you off your chest, you feel a rush of relief like a ton of weight was lifted off your soul. You'll instantly feel better. So, if you're feeling those dark feelings, let yourself be human and share it with somebody. I know it feels like the "wrong" thing to do as men, but believe me, it's the only thing that can turn those dark days brighter.
There's nothing wrong with admitting you need help.
Also, this dog is an awesome drum.
