First Americans Museum in OKC to Open in September
The new FAM (First American Museum) in Oklahoma City, OK. will be opening on Saturday, September 18th (09-18-21). The new museum features artifacts and amazing displays and interactive attractions that include all the Native American tribes that reside in Oklahoma. We've been hearing about this project for years and it's looking like it will finally be completed and opened very soon. Looking forward to it.
The Grand Opening weekend will be that Saturday (09-18-21) from 8:00am until 10:00pm and on Sunday (09-19-21) from 8:00am to 8:000pm. They'll have all kinds of special events, live performances and guest speakers throughout the weekend. It's only $5.00 to get in for the Grand Opening celebration. Click here for ticket information. Due to the large crowds that are expected through out the weekend advance tickets must be purchased. If you're a FAM member you get in free, for details click here. You won't want to miss this!
The video above details some of what you can expect from the new First American Museum in OKC. It's located at 659 First Americans Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK. That's near the Oklahoma river and downtown OKC in the middle of Interstates 35, 40, 235 and 44. For directions and details on parking and even near by hotel options visit the official FAM website. I'm hoping to go during the opening weekend, if not I'm thinking a Fall break mini family vacation in October when the kids are out of school.
Not only does the new FAM museum have all the incredible artifacts, displays and galleries it also features 2 theaters and there's even a restaurant where you can try out some traditional Native American foods as well. We're lucky, those of us who live in Oklahoma to have this right here in nearby OKC. We're also lucky to live in a state with so much culture and history with all the Native American tribes. If you've never had the opportunity to experience it for yourself here's your chance!
