If you haven't been yet you'll definitely want to check out the new "Patriot Pavilion" at Elmer Thomas Park in Lawton. The project was completed back in early November with official dedication and grand opening ceremonies. I finally had a chance yesterday to go and check it out for myself and it's amazing!

If you've been to the park over the past couple of months, or really anytime recently you've seen all the construction going on. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the project for months, but it's finally completed and open to the public. During lunch yesterday I decided to grab a quick to go lunch and head to the park. Every now and then I'll go to the park and eat lunch and relax, it's a great break.

While I was there I noticed that the new "Patriot Pavilion" was finished so that's where I ended up having lunch. This new addition to Elmer Thomas Park will definitely be a popular place for families, park visitors and of course during organized festivals and happenings. There's tons of seating and shade.

We can all thank Nicholas Sasseen a 16 year old Lawton resident for making this all happen. He thought up the "Patriot Pavilion" and assisted with the entire construction and planning as a part of his Eagle Scout project. All of the scouts and special donors did an incredible job in building this for the Lawton, Fort Sill community. I know we all appreciate their efforts and look forward to using it in the years to come.
