Another store can be added to the list that will require face masks to be worn in order to enter and shop. Kohl's announced yesterday evening that like Walmart they would also start requiring customers to wear face masks or coverings while in the store. The new policy will go into effect this Monday, July 20th 2020 (07-20-20).

They fully addressed the mandatory mask policy on their official Kohl's website: "As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, face covering mandates have grown to apply to approximately 70% of our store base, therefore we’ve made the decision to take a consistent approach across our entire store fleet. Beginning Monday, July 20, we will require all customers to wear a face covering while shopping in our stores. This mask requirement does not apply to individuals unable to wear a mask for medical reasons."

Walmart made a very similar announcement yesterday afternoon. You get get all the details on that here. More and more businesses are starting to require masks Target and CVS just made their mask policy public today. It's looking like Lawton might be passing a mandatory face mask ordinance tomorrow during the city council meeting. Something has to be done to help slow or stop the spread of COVID-19. A second wave is almost a certainty, however it's severity and length will be decided by how strictly people adhere to the CDC guidelines and recommendations.

If we don't want another shutdown we really need to do everything we can to prevent the virus from spreading. That means continued social distancing, hand washing and wearing a face mask while in public. I'm not a fan of masks, but if it will help and allow us to keep things open and hopefully return to normal sooner I'm all for it.
