Oklahoma’s New All Inclusive Off Road Park Comes With a Twist
Every once in a while, Oklahoma reminds me that the best days are the ones that start with a full tank of gas and end with a layer of dust you can’t quite wash off.
One of my favorite things in the world is loading up the bikes and getting off the pavement with my nephews. Nothing fancy, nothing sponsored, just family time with a little throttle mixed in. The problem, like a lot of Oklahoma families know, is land. We are not sitting on generations of acreage, so if we want to ride, we are usually pointing the truck toward public land and committing to a drive.
Now, to be fair, Oklahoma does have places to ride. They just tend to be… not exactly around the corner.
So the other night I’m scrolling TikTok, half paying attention, when something actually makes me stop. A video pops up for a place called America’s Outdoor Adventure Park. Not just trails. Not just a patch of dirt with a gate. A full-blown off-road destination way out in Jay, Oklahoma.
It Had My Attention... For A Moment
After digging a little deeper and actually picking up the phone, the picture got clearer. America's Outdoor Adventure Park is not really built for the hardcore bring-your-own-toys crowd, at least not right now. It is much more geared toward folks who are off-road curious or families who want the experience without already owning the gear.
In other words, this place is trying to remove the biggest barrier of getting into this incredibly expensive hobby...
Instead of hauling your own machines, the park currently provides side-by-side rentals as part of the stay. They have decent taste too, Polaris RZR 1000s are included along with as much instruction as you need to feel comfortable driving them.
Rooms, food, machines, activities, all bundled together. When you look at it that way, the sticker-shock pricing doesn't seem so high.
For families who have always been a little off-road curious but didn’t want to invest in trailers, bikes, and all the extra gear, that is actually a pretty interesting setup. Or, if your family is spread wide and far across the country like mine, it makes it convenient to still have your off-road fun without having to haul your toys halfway across the country.
The Planned Expansion
Now, for folks like me who already have motorcycles and four-wheelers sitting in the garage, there is one important thing to know. At the moment, guests cannot bring their own off-road toys. That includes dirt bikes and ATVs. So if your normal routine is unload and ride your own machine, this place is not quite aimed at you just yet... there's a but.
When I talked to the park, they told me they are working toward adding a motocross track, with a target of late summer 2026, think August-ish. The way I heard it, their plan is for guests to either use park-provided dirt bikes or bring their own once the track is complete.
If that happens, and if things expand from there, it could eventually open the door for more traditional bring-your-own riding down the road. It's too early to promise anything, but it is something worth watching.
In the meantime, what AOAP seems to be building is a very approachable on-ramp into the off-road world. Wake up on site, get some instruction, hop in a RZR, and see what all the dust is about without having to buy a single piece of equipment first.
And honestly, for the right family, especially one that is off-road curious but not fully committed yet, that might be exactly what gets them hooked.
As for me and my nephews… we may still be a little too deep in the bring-your-own-bike phase. But give it time. If that motocross track shows up like they say it will, there is a decent chance we will be taking another look.
