Where to See Oklahoma’s Best Fall Foliage in 2024
It's right around mid-August each year that the Google searches start to trend toward fall festivities in Oklahoma. The State Fair, Tulsa's ridiculously awesome Oktoberfest, and where the best places are to see fall foliage in the state.
Sooner State meteorologists aren't sugar-coating it this year, there's a chance the colors could be somewhat muted again unless we get more steady rains, but the colors will come either way. The real question remains, where will you find the best?
Of course, down in SWOK, most people point to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge as a major foliage destination, but while there is a little color pop each year, it's rated M for meh. The wild Wichitas don't have the spectacular biodiversity other parts of the state do.
All the same, if you've seen the rest of the state this time of year, by all means, come on down and embrace the earth tones of our little backyard mountain range. If you're looking for the best drive in the state, keep scrolling.
