The rolling American joke is that when we finally land on Mars, the first thing we'll do is grab a pop and a candy from Dollar General. DG's are popping up literally everywhere.

Here in Lawton, they just keep popping up in random places, and everyone seems to be abuzz about the new DG Market somethingorother on the south side of town. Apparently it's developing a cult-like following among the Zoomers.

My parents weren't thrilled about a Dollar General being built in their neighborhood a few months ago, but if the seven trips they made there over the Thanksgiving weekend is any indication, they've made peace with it.

I have a sister who isn't having a similar experience. Of course, the Dollar General is practically just outside the gate of their million-dollar-home subdivision... so apples and oranges from where our parents park their house.

If you've spent enough time in rural Oklahoma, you've likely grown an appreciation for the nationwide retailer. In my hometown of 1300 people, Dollar General has brought competition to the local United Supermarket.

If you lived in a place where every head of lettuce was a special one-off delivery to the middle of nowhere and priced pretty much as high as some CEO could imagine, you'd probably appreciate your local DG too.

Of all the towns and cities across the great state of Oklahoma, randomly enough, here are the locations with the highest number of DG's per capita.
