After ending last week on a tornadic note, Oklahoma is already gearing up for the next round of severe weather.

With a strong push of moist Gulf air tomorrow afternoon and evening, there's a chance a dryline is going to set up and roll through Oklahoma on Tuesday. It'll be part of a storm complex expected to fire off from Laredo, Texas, all the way up through parts of Michigan.

Oddly enough, the Storm Prediction Center is forecasting an otherwise light day for Oklahoma, with the biggest threat being wind and hail. There is a small risk of tornadoes. This time of year, that risk is always present, but the biggest tornado-threatened areas will be across West Texas and Missouri up through the Midwest.

While most of Oklahoma will welcome the rain, parts of our state are still incredibly dry. Wind is going to be a big driving force across the plains.

While our best chance at severe weather is going to be hail, it's still a low-to-moderate chance for a few hail cores to drop across the state. Not exactly widespread, but as parts of several isolated storms.

As if the timing wasn't weird or perfect enough, the National Weather Service is hosting a free Weather Spotter training course tomorrow, and you can attend for free. Even better, you don't have to drive anywhere to go. It's completely virtual.

It starts tomorrow at 6:30 PM. Here's the link.

Odd and Unbelievable Tornado Facts

As far as we've come in the technology surrounding severe weather and tornadoes, there's still a massive amount science still doesn't understand. Yes, there is a generally agreed idea of how they begin, the conditions needed, and the usual atmospheric conditions, but twisters are still wildly unpredictable. Even more fascinating are the strange and almost terrifying facts about these powerful displays of nature.
