Oklahoma Moms Clash at Kids’ Game, Proving Sports Parents Are the Worst
Whether you agree or not depends almost entirely on whether you have kids who play sports. Long story short, Oklahoma sports parents are the worst.
I said what I said, and you know it to be true.
Scrolling through TikTok, I stumble across a post from the alleged victim of another overbearing and annoying sports parent. As I watched, my mind was flooded with memories of fun Oklahoma Jr. Baseball and the parents who knew their kids would one day win a World Series MVP award.
Spoiler, only one person from my hometown ever went pro, and his dream didn't last very long at all. He's a super nice dude, for the most part, but also a super-annoying sports parent now.

Here's the long and short of the continuing tradition of embarrassing your kids because some parents believe the child's elite sporting performance somehow reflects on them.
When one or more of these parents somehow end up seated near each other, fireworks almost always happen.
Luckily we live in the modern world where cameras are used to shame and shut people up, but you can't stop a couple of loudmouth sports parents from damaging their kids' mental health mid-game.

A little context: this was a tournament game where I’ve sat in the same spot for the last 3 days and had no issues. This woman kept saying we were playing dirty when their kids were playing just as hard. I turned around, looked at her but stayed quiet and just laughed and she yelled, yeah I said it! Then yelled at me to turn back around and play the game! That’s when it started. It got worse when she continued to call me a b**** and say F*** you to me but I held my composure. Parents do better! There’s a way to cheer on your team and still keep it classy. It’s giving Regina George vibes. How embarrassing!!
The double-one-finger salutes were a nice touch.
Unfortunately, even though we get a selective snippet and only one side of the story, it seems sports parents are the one thing in sports that haven't changed a whole lot since we were playing little league, middle school, and high school sports.
What's that old parental saying about it taking two to tango? Just goes to show that if you don't have anything nice to say, shut it.
