Nature isn't the only thing rustling in the springtime, Oklahoma's hunters are too. While most are hitting the lakes and rivers on the metaphorical hunt for anything that'll bite a bait, it's prime time for spring turkey hunting.

The number one question most people have on the topic is "How do you hunt turkey in Oklahoma?" And if you weren't brought up doing it, it's a fair question you shouldn't feel weird about asking. After all, nobody is born knowing anything, and learning the hard way isn't necessary in the digital world of connected information.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is sharing its wealth of knowledge on the subject in a virtual class setting over on its YouTube page. While it's geared toward giving every Oklahoma hunter the upper edge, it's also there to help encourage Sooner State outdoorsmen to try something new and challenging.

We often call something easy a turkey shoot, but hunting wild turkey is anything but easy. These birds a big, can be fast, unpredictable, and have the eyesight closer to an eagle than anything else.

You make a subtle move in the field, the turkey you're hunting is going to see it. That's what makes wild turkey hunting so challenging, but ultimately rewarding when you pull that carcass off the smoker.

So tasty!

If you'd like to see what it's all about, check out the previous and current episodes of Turkey Hunting How-To on ODWC's YouTube page here, and be sure to check out the pointers from the pros on the official website.

Happy hunting.
