Oklahoma Gets A Break From Severe Weather To Start May
If you've seen the forecast, apparently, Oklahoma is in for more rain. As much anxiety as that might induce, given the week of tornadoes we just experienced. Now, the severe risk may be there, but it's just a smidge of odds. We're looking at regular old April showers to end the month and kick off May across Oklahoma.
That is welcome news. We've had our fill of tornadoes this year.
As a bonus, the National Weather Service predicts May will get off to a really gentle and mild start. Cool and wet for at least the first two weeks, but like all best laid plans, there's always a chance for the storms to pop back up.
That's what they're looking at now, a chance for another outbreak.
There's more good news.
The severe weather chances are another week away, and because it's so impossible to accurately predict a weather event that far out, the odds of the weather models staying true as of now are pretty slim.
We have no reason to expect another outbreak, but since May begins tomorrow, all options are on the table.
Even if it does storm a week from now, look on the bright side, we get a whole week of May without any storms. That's super rare, we'll take it.
