There is a flurry of activity going on in lot in Midtown Lawton, and rumor has it Oklahoma's newest Texas Roadhouse location will be the largest in the state.

Even if it's not the biggest, a larger location in L-Town will be very welcome to those of us who enjoy America's top-rated eatery. The current location is small, waits can be long, and the seating is rated M for 'meh.'

Along with a new, larger location comes the inevitable typical Lawton Honeymoon period. I'm not sure how it is in your neck of the Sooner State, but down here, any new restaurant stays absolutely packed for about three months until the "new" wears off.

The massive lot is completely torn up with plans to build back the new Roadhouse.

Being next to Buffalo Wild Wings, Rib Crib, and Luigi's Express, it'll be in good company.

We've reached out to Texas Roadhouse with questions about the new location, but have yet to receive a reply in the last month... so we'll roll with rumors and hope for the best.

Some believe that a West Side location would have made more sense, but Midtown is fine.

Others said it should have been built on the East Side, and everyone else laughed.

Odds are, completion of the new Roadhouse could be as early as Christmas '25, but to err on the safe side, early 2026 is more likely.

Oklahoma is no different.

Birthed into statehood as a cattle state, there's no shortage of beef on any menu here, but there's a little room for chicken and fries too. Here are the absolute, hands down, best restaurants, in no particular order, everyone has to try in The Sooner State.
