The top 10 safest Oklahoma towns and cities have been ranked, and the top list shouldn't be any surprise.

If you're worried about crime in Oklahoma, here's some really good news. We've really turned things around these last few years. As a state, that's a huge win and completely backward from the everyday hearsay scuttlebutt heard in normal small talk.

Overall, Oklahoma as a whole has fallen from having the 10th-highest violent crime rate nationwide in previous years to 15th on the list. It's not a big move, but it's a good move.

Additionally, and this is the bigger news, the Sooner State has fallen to the middle of the pack in regard to non-violent crime, 25th on the list. Burglary, theft, etc... Given how common it has been in recent years for possessions to walk out of garages in broad daylight, consider it a win.

We are making progress across Oklahoma, but we still have plenty of work to do, according to the most recent FBI crime statistics.

Even more good news, there are several towns and cities in the state that have little to no crime to report.

Most of the cities and towns that made the top 10 safest places this year are located in rural Oklahoma, mainly the southwest and central portions of the state. The top on the list is ranked #1 again for its 6th consecutive year. Quite an accomplishment.

As it turns out, while most don't enjoy everyone else knowing their business, it's the smaller towns that tend to be safest.

If you're looking for someplace to move, retire or visit and are worried about crime, these are the safest places. They have some of the lowest crime rates in the state, some have the lowest in the Nation according to FBI crime statistics.

7 Oklahoma Towns Among Worst 'Small' Cities In America

A recent study ranked all of the smaller cities in America and 12 hometowns on the list were from here in Oklahoma. The expected nicer communities were comfortably ranked in the middle, but over half were listed as some of the worst in the country.

Tiny Oklahoma Towns With Populations Less Than 15

The list of ultra-tiny Oklahoma towns is surprisingly longer than one might expect. By any metric of measurement, a "small town" in Oklahoma is widely considered under 5,000 people, but these tiny towns of 15 or fewer people redefine how we think of small towns.
