I'm sure, like most, you've seen thousands of videos on social media. You know the ones, where carnival rides malfunction and either trap or hurt those riding... It's a fear you don't appreciate as a youth, but as you get older, none of it makes any sense.

How can it be safe if it's taken apart and put back together a few hundred times each year? Surely things wear out, right? Or, as likely as it seems in this case, something electronic malfunctions and strands a bunch of thrill-seekers in limbo until they find a fix.

It's like every wild and crazy thing my parents said about these rides when I was a kid came true. We've seen things like this happen in other countries and states, but I can't remember this happening in Oklahoma outside of Frontier City... which sees a few snafus each year, but the Tulsa State Fair. It's wild.
