The Ride for Change came through Lawton, Fort Sill last Summer in September 2020 with my twin brother from a different mother and fellow broadcasting blood brother, Frank Pain. He's from Abilene, TX. and on air at KEYJ 107.9-FM "Rock 108" another proud member of the Townsquare Media family.

He rode around Texas and Oklahoma on his Harley making several stops spreading the word about the Ride for Change minority scholarship program and raising funds. We had the opportunity to have Frank in town back in September at Diamondback Harley Davidson 301 S.E. Interstate Drive. A BIG THANKS to them for allowing us to hang out and invade on them. A BIG THANKS too to all the people who came out and donated to the cause, we really appreciate it!

His ride kicked off in his hometown of Abilene and he made stops in Lubbock, Amarillo, Lawton, Wichita Falls, Texarkana, Tyler, Temple/Killeen, Victoria, San Angelo, and Midland/Odessa. Each town he visited is setting up a scholarship program to help local and area students. The inaugural scholarship for Lawton is in the amount of $300.00 So, if you’re about to graduate high school and are planning on entering college or trade school, be sure to apply for the Ride for Change scholarship.

Grades are a factor for being considered for the scholarship, but community involvement is also a major component. So, download the application or pick a copy up from our office and be sure to get it back to us by Wednesday, March 31st (03-31-21). We will announce the winner in April.

We’re just getting started with “The Ride for Change.” The 2nd Annual ride will take place in May this year. Dates, markets and beneficiaries will be announced soon. Be sure to keep an eye on the website for details on the next event. If you’re a motorcycle rider and would like to join the ride, keep checking back for details.
