Severe Weather Season is Arriving Early in Oklahoma
The very warm Oklahoma winter will apparently skip forward to storm season this year, marking the first week of March for a super-early start to our normal unpredictable weather patterns.
While we can all be thankful the tornado threat is low, it's the hail that has plagued Oklahoma for the last few years.
Even just one day out, it's normal for the National Weather Service to be somewhat conservative in their predictions, but keep in mind... On a day last June, Lawton was predicted with a slight chance of rain when a massive storm turned towards Fort Sill and dropped softball-sized hail for a solid 70 minutes across the metropolitan area.
A slight or marginal risk means nothing when it comes to OK's weather.

These severe risks will continue into Friday as a small cold front blows in, but on the more positive side, temps should fall back to normal heading into the weekend.
